I have decided to open up the
website to the public to post news on the site. So if you have any
stock dog related stories, articles, trial results, or upcoming trial
dates you would like to post on the main page here, post them in the
forum in the section
(Front Page News), Only the things
published in this section will be considered for publication on the main
site. If you prefer to email the news that will be fine to, my email is
jeff@usbordercollie.com I will play
this by ear to begin, I will post anything posted in that section of the
forum, as long as it is stock dog related. The site is mainly a Border
Collie website, but any news about stock dogs will be fine. No news
about show dogs will be posted on the main website. Stock news can also
be posted are any farming related story. You will have to register at
the forum to be able to post news.
I had a friend do this on his website and it made for some really good
reading. The more eyes and ears gathering news about stock dogs the
better. Hopefully some folks will contribute and make this something
people will enjoy.
The site was setup as mainly a links website for any information out on the World Wide Web, so if you have any links you feel need to be added or taken down feel free to email me or post them in the forum.
As you may have noticed I have added a way to comment on each news story at the bottom left of the story. I choose to do it using the forum so I could keep the site html instead of going to php to do it. Lots of folks love php but I find them slow and aggravating personally. I know the forum is php, that's a have to though.
I found a couple places on the net with some nice border collies articles to read. ABCN has several articles written by Candy Kennedy. The other site is Red Top Kennels with Patrick Shannahan doing the writing. I think you will enjoy them.
After around 6 months of dieing to have a pedigree search here at usbordercollie it has finally come to pass. I have to thank Jim Trethewey over at Pedigree Central for his great work on installing this for me. Alfirin Technologies Dynamic Pedigree Generator is a great program!
How many people do you find that does such great work and offers it for free. I cannot believe how fortunate I was when finding his site on the net much less finding out it was a free program.
My database is just for Border Collies and as of right now it has over 4100 pedigrees. I will be adding even more records as the days go by. So if you would like to try the database out its located at http://usfdr.com/search.html I hope you enjoy it, I am sure if you like looking at pedigrees as much as I do you will.
